Yes, Mom. Sunday, the day after tomorrow, I leave for Seattle to fly to Nome. Yes, I will pick you up a Nome gnome for our home, but not for our Rome home. Your roaming kid is going Noming. Tuesday I'll set sail for Vancouver (the BC one, not the WA one). In the meantime I'll check in whenever I can, as service is spotty when you're living in a kayak on the Bering Sea, the Gulf of Alaska, and the Inside Passage. .
