MickyMan Folklore: Searching for 'Cuckoo Song Collector' fr (1) Folklore: Searching for 'Cuckoo Song Collector' fr 08 Sep 25

I've often thought about whether or not a certain young lady (in 1976) that I met at the Kodaly Musical Training Institute is still "collecting cuckoo songs". This seemed to be a place where somebody might actually know of her. I can't remember her name, but I was very impressed with her folklore scholarship.
I was right out of college, getting some extra training before my first year of teaching elementary school classroom music. The KMTI summer program in Somerville, MA/USA was all about applying well sourced folk songs to classroom music curriculum using "The Kodaly Method". I met a lot of people that summer, and I also attended for two other summers to get my teaching certificate. Come to think of it, perhaps I met her in 1978, during one of my other summers?
I just found it interesting that this person was specifically collecting "cuckoo songs". This was an ambitious project in the pre-internet world! It impressed me in a passing way, but for some strange reason, I've always wondered whether she continued to do so over the years. I know that my time in that program introduced me to the wonderful "folkie" world, and I'd get a kick out of knowing that the "cuckoo collecting girl" stuck to it.
As I wrote earlier, I can't recall any name, but she was cute little thing with blonde hair.
