Eddie Lang was indeed most famous for playing the L-5, having graduated to this from the L-4 oval hole model, some time around 1928. Prior to that he was photographed playing a variety of non-Gibson instruments before settling on the Gibson(s). Details can be found online, as ever... Cheers - Tony
