Dr. Patrick Donnelly used the pseudonym Phelim Brady, it is also known that after his passing a song was published in 1847 titled "Phelim Brady The Bard of Armagh." The very year of the beginning of the Banishment Act of 1697 he was appointed Bishop of Dromore by a special induct from the Pope.Francis Henry Maynard (F.H. Maynard) penned"The Dying Cowboy" in 1876. Better yet according to his edited memoirs by Jim Hoy he claimed to be the author of what became "The Streets of Laredo". As early as 1908 copyrighted book was reported a song was heard by a cowboy in 1886 "The Cowboy's Lament" no doubt the lyrics were a close variation of "The Dying Cowboy".
