Err….I think you get just as much commercial time on the Beeb, it’s just that they are forever advertising themselves ad nauseam, eg. “Well, if you enjoyed that documentary on English folk traditions, don’t forget we have a Boy Band Bonanza concert show on BBC2 three weeks next Tuesday. Meanwhile next up over on BBC1 we have an inane panel show to waste 27 minutes of your life that you’re never going to get back, followed by 3 more minutes of pointless self-advertising”… Just don’t get me started on credit squeezes and taking over the concluding music of programmes….
