Well, I feel terrible for leaving before hearing Amergin. My only excuse is that I had to get up at 5am in order to go to work, and I somehow didn't know that Amergin was going up on stage. The meeting of live Mudcattoiseaux is quite an amazing experience, like seeing characters in a beloved story come to life. I'm still somewhat in shock. Thanks to both Amergin and Mollificent (who completely blew the crowd away with her singing, acapella, of British, Irish and Scottish songs). One small interaction of note: as I signed a performer's mailing list, she said, very earnestly, I've been to that Mudcat Cafe before. Ah well, maybe she has, but I'm not sure she understood the whereness part exactly, even though I clearly announced from the stage that it was "sort of a website."

The open mike at the Artichoke will continue thru April 12 then close for good. No plans for another space have been made to date.
