I think radriano "said it all" when he said it irks him when people misuse superlatitives however I'm sure that Murray meant well and this thread has certainly opened up Pandora's guitar case ! Obviously the best that I have seen doesn't mean that he is the best in the world, he could be but that's a only a matter of opinion.

I remember seeing Stefan Grossman back in '72, when you had to be black and/or be white and have long hair to be able to play 'the blues' and I was amazed at how he could play and then I remember hearing Mark Knopfler play and thought 'how can he do that ?' and here we are sometime later and I go and see Tommy Emmanuel, goodness gracious me and he has a couple of video's the thing is Kendall I don't think it's the natives who can tell you, possibly only the greats themselves. So in that case my vote goes for..IanC, the boy's a legend (oops sorry radriano)
