As I mentioned in a thread months ago, my parents brought back theat mentioned set of Blind Blake 78's from a trip to the Bahamas in 1951. I grew up with them and preferrd them to any thing else that was available to me as a little kid. I kept these records for more than forty years, but they disappeared when I sold my house in 1999. Somewhere, in the U.S., I have them on tape, but not here in China (what was I thinkin'?) As I remember, the songs included: It's Love, Love Alone('Caused King Edward to Leave the Throne); Jones, oh Jones; My Name is Morgan (But it AIn' J.P.); Run, ComE, See; Pretty Boy; YEs Yes Yes; Watermelon Hangin' on the Vine; Lord Got Tomatoes, and maybe two more. To my credit, I knew this stuff was cool before I knew what cool was! Good Luck finding the records. It's some great, great stuff. My Dad, who was more inclined to Guy Lombardo, put them away, and only would play them for me as a kid if I put up a stink.
