I grew up listening to the LP every Easter from the time I was little and I LOVED this version. It was definately grittier than the movie, and I was so young when I saw the theatrical production that I can't compare...I bet this would reach those young people who would find the movie "lame" or "boring".
My favorite lines--I must say that I have to stick with "Yet, if He said He loved me, I'd be lost, I'd be frightened. I couldn't cope, just couldn't cope. I'd turn my head, I'd back away. I wouldn't want to know. He scares me so, I want him so, I love him so."
The woman who played Mary Magdelane in this production was amazing.
