In the movie, The Ghost and the Darkness, Val Kilmer plays the part of Col. John H. Patterson, an Irishman. As he and Michael Douglas, the professional hunter Remington, are climbing through some hills in search of man-eating lions, Reminton hums/sings under his breath: Oh, Johnny Boy, hmmmm, hmmm, Oh, Johnny Boy. There were only a few bars (or whatever) hummed, but I'm sure that was an Irish folksong we had to learn in grade school. Could you help me get more information on this ballad? Someone said it was an anti-war song, but I think that's incorrect. I think they're thinking about When Johnny Comes Marching Home, Hurrah, Hurrah, which is an anti-war song from our own Civil War. Thanks
