That's an interesting question Roo. What draws them the music or the issues...? or the thrill of having someone listen to them, I mean really listen, spellbound... i used to be a nurse by the way and now I'm a freelance writer/musician. at least my mistakes don't kill people now!!!! Hold the wise-cracks.

Next highest proportions seem to be medical staff and social workers.

Seriously, you don't think that teachers, being brainy are into history and tradition, do you? Or simply get bored when they go out and just sit there? After all, a night listening to a jukebox doesn't demand very much of you, does it?
