Congratulations are due to Senator James Jeffords of Vermont for sticking to his principles and announcing as an independent- the Republican Party having moved so far to the right as to be barely recognizeable as the Party he joined 30 years ago. Here's hoping that other Republican moderates (an endangered species for some years) will follow suit. Best, Greg
