I've just been listening to a "live" recording of Sinead O'Connor singing "The Spinning Wheel" on John Kelly's Radio RTE 1 show "Mystery Train". I thought it was not good, she seemed to divest the lyric of all real emotion and no sense whatsoever of story telling. She seemed too, to render the beautiful melody featureless, I really think she is not as versatile a performer as she imagines herself to be. Monotony , was the principal mood that came across. Am I blaming her for a bad day or what does anyone else think.? Beach.
