I'm afraid that this Aussie has forsaken Vegemite (after 25 years of consumption) and fallen for an imposter - Promite. It is sweeter and has more flavour than the old V which is bitter in comparison. I don't feel too bad though seeing as how Kraft isn't Aussie owned! My favourite camping food now consists of Promite & Cheese toasted sandwiches... even when I can catch fish! My mum used to put vegemite in her gravy to give it a bit of colour and flavour... There are many uses for beer scum (actually I've met some beer scum, but then I went to a different pub...)
