GUEST,Brían | Lyr Req: Cailin Na Gruaige Doinne - in English (22) | RE: Cailín Na Gruaige Doinne | 01 Jun 01 |
Angun, I'm working on a translation. I went over it with a friend of mine today and we seem to be agreeing. irish is a tricky language. there is a lot that doesn't translate literally. I was once asked to tranlate a version of The Devil And The Farmer's Wife for a class. I did great until I had the devil closing the door and turning green. The word for green in irish is the same for lock. Of course that was a long time ago. I was Bríain, the genitive case. |
