GUEST,GUEST outlander Instruments creep up on you! (43) RE: BS: Instruments creep up on you! 08 Jun 01

Well. I see all this and realize that it's not that we buy instruments....we go away for long vacations and they get lonely without us and breed!

Which is why at home in the music room, I find:

A three-tone train whistle two bamboo flutes an end-blown chinese bamboo flute a pennywhistle a persimmon fife with metal ends

(not that I can play ANY wind instrument worth a damn, mind you. My wholly non-musical wife can coax beautiful sounds out of a flute without even trying...t'aint fair, I tell you!)

a nice little violin with gut strings that I use to scare the cats (can't play it either, but it's fun to practice when my wife isn't home)

acoustic bass fretless electric bass fretted electric bass (useless, IMHO)

too many acoustic six-strings.

three chairs (two for players to sit on and one to lean instruments against when we're not playing, which seems to be most of the time)

and a closet with all the straps, cables, accessories, recording devices, last year's unfinished demos, assorted taped-up cardboard boxes that haven't been opened for the last three moves, dusty cases, and unidentifiable live-sound-audio-electronics devices. And a kitchen sink (really). Go figure.

I couldn't have bought all of it. It had to breed or something. Am I in denial? naaah.
