When I was first learning old time two finger banjo from a few local oldsters I was told by a bluegrasser to forget everything I'd learned. Not too long after that, I went to a local luthier for some birdseye maple with which to make a new pot for a 5 string. He told me he didn't know why I wanted such nice wood. Since a banjo wasn't a musical instrument anyway, I might as well make it out of frozen shit. Well, I just kept picking. Chip A.
