Red Skelton once had Amanda Blake ["Miss Kitty" from Gunsmoke] on his show, performing in a skit. Part of her act was to sing an old western song. He caught her gaze after she finished, and said, "I can see why you took up acting instead of singing." Needless to say, she broke character.
