Your clues thick scots accent and Battlefield Band got me thinking of our dear departed Davey.
A check through the threads suggest that the song you want is Davey Steel's "Heave Ya Ho", from Battlefield's "Rain, Hail and Shine" album, no words turned up on the thread though, mabye this time.
The album is just a couple of years old at most, second last one Davey made I think, so someone should have it.
