Ron, To be sure, I was not knocking Stefan Grossman. I was just making the point that, in my opinion, Andy Cohen, Ernie Hawkins and Roy Book Binder are the three leading authorities on the life and music of Reverend Davis. The fact that it was Stefan, and not one of the others who was chosen to compile this bixed set, probably owes something to the fact that he himself records for Shanachie, the company that released it. I repeat, I was not knocking Stefan. I have tremendous respect for him as both a musician and musicologist.
