Seriously, librarianship is OK as a career but not well paid - possibly even worse than teaching. I did a degree from Loughborough MANY years ago, but fled into publicity and PR. Mys sister qualified at Strathclyde and has been in and out of library work ever since (she also has a PG teaching qualification). Current demand seems to be in the online resource area.
