For my woman I was a lumberjack For my woman I broke my back Working all day long in the hot blistering sun Making big old trees into little bitty ones. While I worked she stole my pay and ran away With her man. That was their plan. Ain't it funny what a smile and a kiss can do When the woman ain’t worth the heel off a good mans shoe She left me here to hold An achin' back and a broken heart Just a broken hearted man Swillin' from my jug. Close as I can get as it has been at least forty years Any help with song name an author would be great On the flip side was a song about never going to bed on an unsolved argument. All I can remember is the line "Don’t do what I did, Do what I say." Another good blues song though and I would love to get it back as well. My best recall of the song on a record I had about forty years ago.
