There's a parody (dating back to the '20's or 30's) of Engine 143. Some of the lyics are: Along came the IRT a-cannonballin' through, From a hundred forty-second street to Flatbush avenue Runnin' da da da da da until it reached Times Square. The people da da and milled around and Georgie, he was there.

... The conductor closed the door on him and cut poor George in half.

...and the very last words poor Georgie said were "Screw the IRT!" Can someone send the complete lyrics -- and attribution, if known? Thanks!
