Some time ago, I had posted a request here for the text of "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised", as I wanted to have a crack at translating it into French. Now, I am a French-to-English translator, but normally what I translate are technical texts and then mostly those that deal with water treatment. Gil Scott-Heron's classic piece posed a multiple problem because I had not only to translate it, but to adapt it to the French culture and update it to boot! I can now well understand why it is so difficult to do a decent translation of a song. . . I'll be happy to post the text (La révolution ne sera pas retransmise) I came up with if anyone is interested. cheers, Aux
