Wisk detergent ran a commercial featuring an exasperated woman scrubbing her husband's collars while off camera voices taunted "ring around the collar." It so offended my thirteen-year-old self - SHE didn't get those collars dirty - that I drastically cut down on my TV time. Thirty-five years on I still don't watch much TV - and I've never bought Wisk detergent. On the other hand, hearing Richie Havens sing "All abooooaaard Amtrak, all abooaaaaard" embodied all the romance of train travel.
