From The Wiscasset Newspaper, August 23, 2001: "William "Bill"Bonyon, 90, folklorist, teacher, writer, singer, and author, died Monday, August 13, 2001. He was a pioneer of the concept of folk songs as living history, and for almost two generations he sang them in the classrooms and concert halls of America." Wickford Express pays homage to the memory of this fine and gentle man who taught us the value of bringing historic music to school children in an entertaining and accessible format.
