I can't believe this song is not in the DT, nor could I find it in the forum.
I have one, rather politically correct and, I imagine, recent version, but I would like to find older versions. (The one I have on tape has the Irish applicant telling "the ould lad" how his own ancestors had come over as immigrants, too, and been welcomed by "the Indians who owned this land, " who "didn't tell ye 'no.' "
I know in some older versions, the Irish immigrant punches "the ould lad" out.
Anyway, what've you got?
