I was looking forward with only a little trepidation to co-leading a community beach bonfire sing-along on Saturday. Ain't never done it before, but I have a strong voice and know lots of happy sing-along tunes.
After yesterday, I didn't know what I'd do. I thought: - back home again - teach your children well And when I tried those songs I found myself bursting into tears. Though I'm an atheist, I tried Amazing Grace and managed a bit better -- two and a half verses; that's such a comforting song.
I have no idea what to sing, if anyone will show up at an Ottawa beach wanting to sing on Saturday, if people will just want to stand up and talk about that wonderful city: New York. I wish the organizers would just cancel the event. I don't think they will.
The forum search isn't working for me. I tried to look up something re: songs after Colorado high school student massacre, but couldn't get anywhere.
