GUEST,Jimmy C Lyr Req: Ned on the hill....who sings lady in (7) Lyr Add: NED OF THE HILL 13 Sep 01

Sussie, here is what little I remember of this song,The first 2 verses and the chorus are fairly accurate, I can't recall the rest, I'm sure someone will have the missing lyrics

Ned of the Hill
Oh dark is the evening and silent the hour
Oh who is the minstrel on yonder lone tower
His harp he so tenderly playing with skill
Oh who could it be but young Ned of the Hill

Who sings lady love will you come to me now
Will you come and live merrily under the bough
And I'll pillow your head, where soft fairies tread
If you will but wed with young Ned of the hill

Young Ned of the Hill has no castle or hall
No yeomen nor bowmen to come at his call
But one little archer of exquisite skill
Has shot a bright shaft for young Ned of the Hill
And young Eileen has gone to young Ned of the hill
