Ok - the origins of the song are thus. He wrote the song for a festival calle d the hunting of the earl of rone in Combe Martin, N Devon. He is a great guy and has a lovely family. as to his singing the last verse - he sings it every time there. I think that even having heard him sing it 10 - 15 times it still makes me well with tears. if anyone wants his email i think i have it somewhere so send me a message (with some credentials! he's a good family friend) and i'll find it for you. You should also hear his wife Jan sing - she has one of the lovliest voices i've heard Cxxx
