And to think that all those years ago working on my BS, when asked in the final exam in a "History of England and the British Empire" course, to explain fully and completely the role of naval power in the development of Imperial power (one of two questions). I got full credit for my answer, which I remember to this day, yeah, though it be 20 years and more ago -
"If Brittania can rule the waves, Brittania can waive the rules."
Professor nearly fell out of the chair laughing when read this. Got the exam back with the comment "succinct and to the point" written on it.
