I'm a more recent acquaintance of Vaughn's having met her and George probably about 15 years ago. I admired her for the work she did in folk lore and for the way she handled the adversities that life through at her. But I really wanted to say something on behalf of my wife, Carly Gewirz. Vaughn was one of many in the folk community who gave great support to Carly at a time when she most needed it. Vaughn went out of her way to help Carly, and we will always remember her for that. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to George and the rest of the family.
