Peter Tickell was mentioned earlier in the thread as a good fiddler. His performance was the only thing I heard on the M.H. prog and whilst listening to him I thought what a wonderful violin player he was, but why was he on a folk programme, I thought I had tuned into Radio 3 by mistake. The tunes were brilliantly played but I felt they were played how a classical vilinist would play them. Whilst I appreciated the virtuosity it just left me cold, I didn't enjoy it. Before you all shout me down, this is not a critisism of the playing but perhaps of my appreciation, to me it wasn't enjoyable, me feet or fingers wern't tapping. I'll put my flack jacket and helmet on now. Les
