I'm German (well, my ancesters came from Germany, now that land belongs to Poland, aren't Wars fun?) but I come from Minnesota, which has the distenction of many small towns settled half Swedish, half Norwegian. If you can imangine the resutls of turning 18 before cars in a town where the only Guy (or girl for guys) is the other nationality. The only thin Sweeds and norwegians around here agree on is that we should build a fench around Iowa and open a zoo. Otherwise they disagree out of habbit no matter how reasonable the other position is. At least it is a peaceful arguement, but even still these fights have defined the Minnesota culture.
I know there is Norwegian music, learn some and try it. Irish/Scottish music is beatiful, but it also the fad now. Fad music no matter how good tends to get over exposed, and leaves the danger that we can lose some tarditional music that isn't fad.
