Just a passing contribution. I use a metal slide on my 4th finger and use the DADGAD tuning. As long as you can use your other fingers to fret there are some really great sounds to be found. Not easy to get hold of a slide guitar over here in Scotland. Envy you guys there. Bests - Gerald.
