I played the Ovation in the shop not too long ago, and agree with the description above. If you are looking for an electric Mando at a decent price, I picked up Fender FM -52E SB. New, they run about $200 (american). It has pretty good sound on big butter bar style pick up. It also has volume and tone controls. It's a better sound for half the cost of the Ovation. Rick
