Jackie Alper, much-loved former host (and creator of) the "Mostly Folk" show on WRPI 91.5FM, referred to as "Ma" by Ronnie Gilbert, friend of W.Guthrie,P.Seeger,etc., and considered by The Eighth Step Coffeehouse at the Cohoes Music Hall, Cohoes N.Y. as resident honorary grandma/ma/invaluable treasure,is in St. Clare's Hospital in Schenectady, N.Y. facing hip surgery, after falling last night and breaking her hip.
