Something just came to mind. I know that a number of people want to remove the name of "Columbus Day" (because he was an 'opressor, murderer, Imperialist, yada yada) but I read somewhere that "Exploration Day" may well BE on the horizon to replace it. Anyone heard anything about that? I'm not specifically a 'Columbus' fan (I doubt if ANY of the explorers were egalitarian) just curious. I think a great number of people simply take what they want from any holiday, and let others do the same. We celebrate Christ's Birthday knowing full well he wasn't ACTUALLY born on that day, the same way we honor the 'unknown soldier'. The pagentry and reverence make us feel better, and surely that can't be bad these days. marty
