One of the oldest devices to keep dogs from chasing beings/things is said to be a (long and heavy enough) stick tied to his collar. Hurts him when he is running, but won`t be injuring him (at least, if he is smart enough to stop). I haven´t seen it in use, so you can`t be sure if it is working, but dogs are individuals just like humans. Good luck Ernest
