Tiger--Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you The Mabel's site is a sensational find! I ordered 4 tapes initially, and they are all wonderful. Seeing Doc Watson at about age 30, Mississippi John a year or two before he died...I felt like a teenager again discovering folk music for the first time.
Murray, the Mississippi John Hurt tape also includes old-time banjoist (banjoist?) Paul Cadwell, and also Hedy West. With Pete, they do a "'round the table" exchange, so John only does two songs by himself plus one where he leads all four in a fairly rousing version (!) of "Goodnight Irene". He also tells a story about getting his first guitar. Sparce, but still well worth the price.
