The winter in Calgary lasts from December 22 to March 22 (roughly), same as anywhere else. Of course we can get wintry weather in other months. I've been snowed on in every month of the year here, but heavy snowfalls can be expected from September to May (but the snow doesn't stay on the ground as long in the fall and spring months). Today it's minus 25 Celsius, with lots of snow on the ground from a heavy fall yesterday. A chinook is predicted for Wednesday, with the temperature rising almost to freezing. And my car chose yesterday to break down, so I'm without wheels for a bit.
