First day without the olympics. Has it been 17 days already?
So I guess I'd better go into therapy and admit I was an Olympic junkie. I was off work for the two weeks and tried to stuff in as much Games watching as I could.
Even with all the scandals and bad judging, it was a helluva Olympics. Now, being from Canada, I will have somewhat of a bias to my country, as I suspect anyone will for their country. But I saw great achievements for many countries that are stuck in my head, so I thought all of us could share them.
What are some of the moments of the Olympic games that you remember? Good or Bad, it doesn't really matter. Perhaps it wasn't an athletic feat... just something you noticed.
Some for me:
1. Gold medal match for men's curling - Canada vs. Norway. Came down to the final stone of the match. If Canada puts their rock closer to the centre, they win. But Martin's shot was a little heavy and they lost by what some are calling less than a quarter-inch. It was that close. Great match.
2. Saliva. Alot of saliva. Perhaps HDTV is not the best idea coming. Forget anti-doping for the cross-country skiers, give 'em rabies shots....looks like they need it.
3. short-track speed skating. Or NASCAR on skates. These guys and gals believe in the sayin "rubbin's racin" I honestly do not understand why we don't see this sport more often everywhere. Rednecks would eat this stuff up.
I have more, but I'm going to open the floor. But one last thing, being the guy that I am..... There were a few hot babes at these Olympics... some married, I assume some not.
But if any of you Scot catter's out there know Fiona McDonald the curler, tell her I'm proposing. :)
If not her, perhaps Jamie Sale from Canada, (she's going out with a figure skater, I can take him....... I think..... Just let him try to triple Salchow my ass.... I'll take him out.)
Or who was the Aussie that won the Aerial Freestyle? Little blond cutie. Kelly Law was hot too.
Anyways, I digress. :)
