I was gtted to hear about Spike's death. As an 18 year old I amtoo young to have listened to the Goons or watched the TV programmes, but my first experence of him came with the fact that my Granny has copies of Milliganimals and Silly Verse For Kids. I have also read up to Rommel? Gunner Who? in the war memoirs, and couldn't stop laughing. I read in the paper that somebody (I can't remember who) said, "One of the last jewels in the crown of English comedy has fallen out." Very true. Goodbye Spike, you were a genius.
