THe comments of the previus guest ahve reminded me of my amusement at the term, Erse. Having been brought up in Glasgow this was the pronounciation for arse, as in "you're an erse", which I used for many a long year before I ever heard of the language. Thus people "speaking in the Erse tongue" has potential for totally different meanings for me.
