I know we were discussing this not too long ago but I have some interesting information that I wanted to pass along. I was at a folk music event recently and I asked all the young people who were there (teens and 20's) why they liked/were attracted to folk music. They all had about the same answer. Someone (parents, friends, teachers, etc.) had taken them to a folk music event. So, if you want to interest the youth of America (or any other country) in folk music, just do it - take your neighbors' kids to a concert or festival, perform for a class or scout troupe, get involved with youth groups in your area. It isn't hard and it would sure increase our viewing audience.
