There's a lot of value in a Melody Maker, whether it's a Les Paul or SG shape. On the other hand, the Les Paul shapes command ridiculous prices, and the SGs are rising in value. The Epiphone OlympicS have never commanded high prices and are the Epiphone equivalents of the Melody Maker. My number one electric is an Olympic. Discerning guitarists appreciate their properties - I know that David Lindley has a couple at least, and David Bromberg has one. Look for the 64-69 models - they're cheaper than the earlier Olympics.
