Forest Gump/Tom Hanks is my least favorite of all time. He could'nt have spent any time with a dialect coach or recordings. It's 'so' general and inaccurate. Sean Connery in 'Darby O'Gill and the Little People' is pretty regrettable, too, but at least the movie is fun. 'As Time Goes By' is aired locally and some of the characters are American. As a Yank it's interesting to me to see what details of manner and speech the actors choose to amplify. There's one actor playing a smooth talking TV producer who makes me cringe everytime he shows up onscreen as I think, "is 'that' what we sound like to them?" Very humbling...but funny, too.
