That quote came after Louise Certain Scruggs' carefully controlled campaign (Singout, Time, etc) to convince northern folk audiences that Flatt and Scruggs had invented Bluegrass. It would be almost two years later (1962?) that Ralph Rinzler would get Monroe into the press. Louise Certain was a savy manager and did exellent work promoting Flatt and Scruggs. Check out the copyright names on Flatt and Scruggs records. Certain and Stacy are the respective maiden names of Mrs. Scruggs and Mrs. Flatt.
