Got a lot of good thought-provoking responses to my question about training and the 'soul' of music.

One question that came to mind was this:

Should a musician try to find a style that suits their abilities or try to modify/enhance their talents to fit a particular style? For example, I'd love to sing the blues but with my voice I don't think I could ever pull it off. How much are musicians constricted by things like that?
