'Cos, due to our national curriculum over here, we've had to do things like "Design and make a musical instrument" so I've few of that sort of thing. Such as making an African thumb piano out of a small flat box (pizza right strength, wrong size) using Mcdonalds' plastic stirrers for the notes. (Or wooden ice lolly (popsicle?) sticks) You need three strips of wood, eg small dowelling, but square section works, too, two to go under the stirrers as a bridge, and one over, to hold them down. This piece can be held down with a strong elastic band over the ends and under the box.
